A Tale Of 2 Earth Days Reveals Shocking Decline

Terminal Decline

My email in basket is virtually devoid – with one exception – of the usual flood of Earth Day celebratory and fund raising nonsense. As are the media Op-Ed and news pages I’ve read.

No one even bothered to pen an OP-Ed or hold an event on Earth Day?

I’d be pleased if that silence were the result of honest reflection of the current situation and the previously failed Earth Day efforts replaced by a massive national United Front campaign to stop the Trump dismantling.

But it’s not – it’s a sign of defeat, demoralization, cowardice and retreat.

Worse, the Sierra Club NJ Chapter – in terminal decline – has not only thrown in the towel on Trump, they’ve gone over to the other side (or should I say the same side, as current Director Anjuli Ramos is a former DEP technician).

Check this Earth Day message out, from the Sierra NJ Chapter:

No light between Sierra and DEP on Earth Day? Never happened before.

That message contrasts sharply with this Earth Day 2005 message from NJ Sierra to the DEP Commissioner Brad Campbell:

Earth Day 2005 – Greenscam Protest. Wolfe (r) and then DEP Commissioner (who hired me in 2002 as policy advisor) Brad Campbell debate. Press conference, DEP announcing a plan to clean up contamination along the Delaware River. JOHN ZIOMEK/Courier-Post

Happy Earth Day!

Fuck Trump.
