
Green New Deal visits the State Capitol, Olympia Washington
Just realized I haven’t posted photos for a long time – been wonking out – so here’s a few since we last wrote.
Maybe in a post tomorrow, we’ll fill in the gap from the Tetons across the Cascades (in British Columbia) and out onto the Olympic Peninsula & Puget Sound.
With mixed feelings, we left Port Townsend this week, after a little over a month there. We departed with the Wooden Boats.
Bounced south down Puget Sound, spent a few nights in Olympic National Forest – saw some dastardly clearcuts:

the slopes were over 60 degrees. Clearcut went for for about a linear mile, 300 – 400 yards up the slope.
Hey Gov. Inslee – WTF? Those trees sequester tons of carbon. Shut it down, dude!
We then stopped in Olympia for the day, and saw the Capitol, the farmers market, downtown, and the port:
