I love baseball and have been a player, fan, coach, and Dad of a player for just about 50 years, so I think I know a little about the game.
This latest photo of Our Good Governor’s baseball exploits is unbelievable, and to me, far worse than the helicopter stuff (to be distinguished from a helicopter parent, of which the Gov. may be).
The Gov. and Marypat are standing directly behind the catcher.
That is taboo, as it distracts the pitcher and can even bother the batter, catcher, and umpire. Spectators are always kicked out of that zone (beyond the 9 year old level).
If Christie really was a catcher, why is he stupid enough – and allowed – to stand there?
He’s yelling within earshot of his kid, which is an embarrassing and humiliating parental practice (I know from experience!).
And his son is fat too! (and is showing very poor form). The form is so bad, it leads to questions of who could have taught him that.
And is Marypat attempting to look engaged?
And this is Delbarton? I know that they are awesome in hockey – not so much in baseball? There are no fat kids with bad form on the hockey team. So is this affirmative action for those with political pedigrees or connections?
The questions keep proliferating.
(but to the Gov. I know nothing about baseball and care nothing about baseball or kids. I’m just a political hack scoring cheap political points.)
