Princeton Loses ECAC Consolation Game in Shootout

I managed to talk my way into a photographer’s pass in Albany on Saturday night and got to shoot the ECAC Tournament games – unimpeded by the glass – from the penalty box. Check out these photo’s: Princeon v. St. Lawrence Tournament consolation game. The first two pictures determined the outcome: above the St. Lawrence player scored while below the Princeton was player was stoned in the shootout. I will post pics from the Championship game – Yale over Cornell 5-0 – after I recover from the disappointment.

Closing Note to Star Ledger Editors: I do this because I love it – I love hockey, hikes in the woods, urban rambling, and photographing it all. I write here because I love public policy. Can you say the same for your reporters and photographers? The guy next to me in the other penalty box was a Pro – he had a Super Bowl ring on – from the New England Patriots – and about $40,000 in equipment. I have not yet photoshopped these pictures to brighten and sharpen them – But do you think he got that much better shots than these? Do Ledger photographers do better? Yet, all I’ve asked from the Star Ledger “managers” is a lousy press pass. It would costs the Ledger NOTHING – yet they virtually laughed in my face when I asked. I guess their “high journalistic stanadards” somehow preclude them from giving lowly amateur me a lousy press pass. The Ledger could have posted these in the Sunday paper and covered the game – there are a LOT of Princeton and Cornell readers/fans in New Jersey. But, those geniuses up in Newark – who have run the Ledger into the ground – think this work is somehow beneath them adn remain in their old school bunkers. INTERNET RULES!.
